A pooch-friendly hotel with elegant, Old English touches..
The Scene
First opened in 1926, this boutique hotel is located two blocks from tony Worth Avenue. Its Palm Beach attitude is perhaps best summed up in one of its packages. The Privileged Pooch package offers food for both dog and owner, a special dog pillow, a basket of doggie treats and even an itinerary of scenic dog walks. Locally, the hotel is most famous for its nightspot, the Leopard Lounge, where Palm Beach ladies have been known to troll for moneyed mates. Live music is featured here nightly.
The Details
The 54 rooms range from fairly small to spacious. Personal touches include jellybeans and fresh flowers, and the decor consists of antiques and Frette linens. In the suites, complimentary fruit and canapes are delivered nightly. The hotel has a library complete with fireplace where high tea is served in the afternoons. Both indoor and outdoor dining (terrace and poolside) are available. Churchill's Cigar Room offers smokes from far-flung places as well as a range of Cognacs.
