Couldn't get service. Went for a late afternoon lunch around 2:00. There was another couple in front of us waiting to be seated when we walked in. The hostess was cleaning a table and then came and took them back. She then started cleaning the table next to them, we presumed for us. When she was finished she started bussing a second. When she went on to the third we walked out the door. No one ever acknowledged us and acted as if we weren't there.

One of the country's most successful steakhouse empires attracts a casual crowd with huge, reasonably priced steak dinners and a tempered Texan milieu (country music and imposing cattle busts). Wise diners turn off their internal calorie counters, as many menu items arrive fried, covered in cheese, or both. A typically rich meal starts with cheese fries, followed by a blue cheese-crusted fillet. Fried cheesecake ends the night on a note of Texas-sized decadence.
