I have been shopping at Howards for years – The prices are higher, but I don't mind if it means supporting a high quality, family owned business that employs many people. I have always been treated with courtesy and respect. The variety and quality of the pre-cooked cannot be beat.
PS. They were there for us after Wilma. That means something to me.
great deli, great meals to go – I've been shopping at Howard's for 25 years, getting consistent good service, good food. Every hurricane Howard's is open before anybody else and has what I need.
you get what you pay for – People forget that he was around after the storm. He has good prepared food. Is pricey, but good food, and available. I live 1 minute away, and have been going for years. Prepared food always good(and he stands behind the quality). ALAN
Where the heck is Carol? – I remember seeing this tiny little woman named Carol, a few years back. She was so cute looking, just like a little Elf. She walked really fast, I mean she RAN really fast!!!! She looks like a little rag doll with gray hair and a windbreaker jacket. She is married Chris, who works at Howards too. I wonder what happened to her, I really miss seeing her at Howards. I mean, I know she's still alive but I wish that Howard would kindly ask her to come back to work and NOT take her tips this TIME!!! Oh and the fruit girl is gone too! WTF!!!!
Howard's son needs to go! – I stopped going to Howard's years ago!My family and I spent a lot of money over the years but now none of us shop there anymore.Howard's son is rude and nasty and needs to be spanked!Some time ago I was in Howard's and I had the misfortune of being waited on by his son at the cold cut counter.I ordered some cold cuts and asked for them to be shaved.Howards son then asked me in a loud and rude tone of voice"May I ask why you need to have them shaved!?"He then proceeded to slice the cold cuts as thick has possible and giving me a bad attitude to boot!I calmly ordered more cold cuts and a bunch of other stuff potato salad etc put them in my cart and loaded up the cart to the brim with various items from around the store.I then went to the checkout line and put all of the items from my cart onto the conveyor belt.The bill came to about $200.00 including about $80.00 worth of the thickly sliced cold cuts.I then told the cashier"OOPS I left my wallet in the car..be right back! Needless to say I drove home and never returned!Howard is a moron and his son is an spoiled,nasty,brat that needs to be trained on how to behave!SAve your money and get your cold cuts at the new Western Beef Supermarket on 441..the prices are much cheaper than Howard($2-3 dollars a pound less than what Howards charges!)Hey Howard!..if you are reading this you need to give that nasty son of yours a spanking!
Horrible customer service @ Howard's Market – would recommend staying away from Howard's Market in Boca Raton. If you must shop here then make sure you get what you pay for.
I pre-ordered 2 first-cut briskets. They were wrapped and sealed when I picked them up. I opened them on Thanksgiving to prepare and found that the 4+ pounds (each) that I paid for were really more like 3 lbs because there was so much fat on top and in the middle. I just went ahead and trimmed them myself (as I had family/guests waiting to eat).
Since I used the meat, I didn't expect to be reimbursed. But I thought they would want to know. I told Howard's son who gave me a "couldn't care less" stare. Instead of apologizing and/or saying anything that showed he cared about the mistake his shop made, he turned it around, making it my fault for not calling him immediately-- making me feel like an idiot. He said accidents happen and asked me, "haven't you had an issue at some other business?" What kind of a response is that? I did feel swindled when I opened the meat and saw how much fat had been left on. But I felt angry and cheated when Howard's son basically dismissed their (costly to me) mistake. It's clear that Howard's doesn't care about its customers. Though I've never left feedback like this before, I feel compelled to let people know.
