Not a good experience. My wife and I arrived at Bice at 8 pm on Monday night, not a busy night, but not a slow night either. We were greeted promptly and seated. There seemed to be some confusion on who was our server. I looked over the wine list and waited 10 minutes before anyone returned to assist. I discussed a couple of wines and picked out a nice Super Tuscan. After 5 or minutes, we were informend they were out of the wine. I selected another, a 99 Super Tuscan. After some confusion and discussion and another 5 or 10 minutes, another server arrived with a 2000 not the 1999 I requested. You would think that if they are charging 3x retail for the wine, they could invest the time to keep the list up to date. I finally settled for a less expensive bottle.

Now thirty minutes have past and we don't have wine and haven't placed our order.

Finally, the wine arrives.

By now the resturant is clearing. My wife and I are enjoying the wine and are very hungary. We are seated right next to the computer terminal where the servers input the order information, so we are in clear unobstructed site but they don't seem to take notice of our needs.

Again, a different server takes our order. My wife orders a salad along with a pasta and salamon dish. I ordered a chopped salad, veal marsala and a small side of pasta. For a fancy italian resturant you would think the chef could be more creative than serving the veal with plain mashed potatoes. No garnish, no seasoning, just plain mashed potatoes. The marsala sauce was very flavorful.

My small side order of pasta was priced at the bargain price of $14 and was enough for two people making my entree total of $38. The pasta was so-so, looked like the fresh packaged pasta you find in the grocery store.

Salads were fresh and crisp and very large and the highlight of the meal.

Five Star service, I don't think so.

Upon our exit, the manager gave us a very warm farewell. Never asking if everything was ok.

A classic. For many years, every time we are in South Florida we make the trip to West Palm for outdoor lunch al fresco at Bice, the bread basket is awesome, so are the primi piatti especially the garganelli with salsiccia, artisan made. Service is friendly and top notch, the decor is classic and upscale, we recommend Bice highly.
