Worst automotive buying experience in 30 years as a dealer.
In my 30 years in the automotive industry, I have never purchased a vehicle from someone who was so rude and abusive on the phone. The vehicle was purchased through e-bay, and was advertised as a
pre-owned clear title vehicle.
Vehicle was purchased with a cashier's check as requested. This check was promptly cashed on August 21, 2007. After numerous calls to the office to find out where the title was, (remember we are an automotive dealer and no Fla title work was required by them other than a dealer to dealer re-assignment), we were finally told that there was a pay off on the vehicle and another dealer was holding up the paperwork. Further research with the Fla DMV indicated that the lien had been released on August 18, 2007, 3 days before we purchased the vehicle.
I must say that the young lady in the office, Becky, was very nice and helpful, when she returned a phone call. Clive on the other hand was just plain abusive to myself and to my title clerk and office manager. He actually hung up on me on at least one occasion when I informed him I was filing a complaint with the Fla DMV.
It is now October 9, 2007 and I finally have the title to the vehicle we purchased along with an extra key and remote. Thank you Becky for providing these additional items for me.
It is an everyday practice for dealers to wholesale vehicles to each other. Normally a draft, (promise to provide funds) is used until the title is in house and available for pick up. For Rendel Motor Cars to demand a cashier's check and then not provide title for 39 days is not only ridiculous, but also unheard of in the automotive industry.
If you are a dealer run very, very far away from them. If you are a consumer please be very, very, careful.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DEALER UNTRUSTWORTHY LIARS!. My family and I are military stationed in Germany. My husband is currently stationed in Iraq. We spoke with Clive regarding an 04 Ford Expedition he had for sale. We of course were not able to test drive or even see the truck in person and we are in Germany and have 4 children. Clive told us this truck was wonderful absoutely NO DISSAPOINTMENTS! BOYYYYYYYYYYYY what that a lie and a half. We picked up the truck at the port (almost 5 hours away) and as soon as I got in it and turned the wheel I knew something was terribly wrong. We drove home at about 40mph on the autobahn and took it to a local Ford dealer the next day. They told us our rear differential needed to be replaced to the tune of 3000 EURO (about 4900 USD)! I nearly fainted. Called and called and called Clive with no return calls or responses. Finally emailed him with no ressponse. I will be going to legal and to the local news with this one. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE! THIEVES!…
